In a statement made by Akinwunmi Adesina, a man from Nigeria in 2019 "Agriculture will produce future billionaires in Nigeria, Africa" How are we working towards that?

I was interviewed recently by the Public Relations officer of the Nigerian Association of Agricultural Students, Obafemi Awolowo University Chapter and one the questions asked was, what are the major challenges faced by the Agric Sector and how can these be solved?

My sole answer was "Investment in the youth" of which my answer was based on future solution which would make the words of Akinwunmi Adesina becomes a reality and get our country saved from the mess of the current economic state. We have individuals doing so well in the Agric sector, yeah. There are people making it big time, but a few compared to how broad and the niches we have in the sector. To even mention, most of those who are doing so well does not even primarily study Agriculture but they saw the light in it and they added value, likes of Farmer Samson Ogbole Akin Alabi, others.

Based on stat, most of the students studying Agric in the university now are not even interested in the course, they just found themselves there and they had no choice than to continue with it, so it is always a bit difficult for them partake in the major activities that concerns Agriculture.

Of course, there are students who has been making Agriculture look so beautiful despite the difficult way of surviving in this country, likes of EKUNDAYO Oluwadamilare PMPĀ®, mMBA Annat Shittu Mateen ADEBAYO Okiki Adagba, RAS Oluwafemi Emaye James Okon Dele Junaid, the likes but I will say they are still not encouraged enough. If we have more of them, I so much believe there would be more value addition in the Agric sector and saving our country's economy through Agriculture will be more feasible, soon.

To achieve this, as the National president of Animal Science Students' Association of Nigeria, ASSAN National Body alongside my National executives, central planning committee and council of President, we are planning to have our 6th National Conference tagged "Agro technology: Modern Technologies and Digitalization in Animal Production" which will be happening in April, 2024. There has been major challenges, yeah and that is funding. I am using this opportunity to reach out to everyone who believes in Agriculture saving our country's economy and also believes investing in youth would pay the best interest to please achieve this with with us whether through personal support, sponsorship or partnership.

This is a digital era and my mentor would say, your helpers are out there, now I am reaching out to you.

...animal production for a better society.
